Moon By Day further explores the realms of electronic music with their most recent release, the ‘Motion Scape’ EP from Shannon Marshall aka SoL.HiM. Having released music as one half of The Deep Ends, the Brisbane-based producer steps out on his own under a new guise to present his debut EP. Marshall’s solo project pays homage to his lifelong love of all sounds, with an excursion into the world of downtempo electronica.

As the name aptly suggests, opener Lazy Piano is a languid, percussive cut featuring ethereal keys and soft, glitchy samples, while emotive strings build a wistful atmosphere for Motion Scape. Jarring, yet playful synths create the off-centre jaunt, Sara, while the feel good groove of It’s a Party Now draws the EP to a warm and fuzzy closure.
